We Grew A Garden and a Whole Lot More
Now It’s Time to Reflect, Refresh, and Rejoice
As another school year draws to a close, we pause to reflect on God’s graciousness and to rejoice in the faithful labor of a community rooted in Christ.
We reflect on the deepening maturity of our Covenant community—students, teachers, and families—whose roots are growing strong and steady, first and foremost in the truth of the gospel. This year has marked continued growth in habits of the heart, in love for learning, and in a spirit of mutual service. We are seeing more clearly the fruit of our labors and the shaping of lives into courageous disciples, thoughtful scholars, and faithful citizens.
This has been a year of meaningful scholarship—of songs sung, books read, ideas debated, math facts mastered, and truths embraced. Students have wrestled with ideas that have cultural relevance and personal interest but also kingdom importance. From the youngest learners to our senior, whose thesis gave voice to the years of formation, we see that education at Covenant is not merely academic—it is eternal in purpose.
We rejoice in the many acts of service that have bound us together and pointed us outward: buddies learning to love one another, students packing meals for the hungry, gathering wreaths for those that serve, blessing others with Operation Christmas Child, sewing blankets for those in need, and reaping a harvest—literally—from our First Fruits Garden to share with others. This rhythm of giving and growing is evidence of a community that is not content to consume but is committed to contribute, just as Keith McCurdy encouraged us back in August.
This is the call to courageous living: to do hard things, to serve faithfully, and to cultivate habits of love and learning. It has been our joy to see that lived out in so many quiet, consistent ways throughout the school year.
Now, as summer draws near, we are reminded that the Lord Himself invites His people to rest. As Proverbs 11:25 says, "Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered." And so, my hope is this summer would be a season to refresh your soul—through rest and through wonder. Most of all, may you draw near to the Lord, who promises to renew us day by day.
Until next time,
Line upon line, for the glory of God.
